Kente Luxe is more than fashion — it is a bridge between centuries of African craftsmanship and the contemporary world. Every piece we create carries the weight of tradition, the skill of master artisans, and a vision for a future where heritage is worn with pride.
Kente Luxe was born in the heart of Ghana's Ashanti Region, where the rhythmic clack of wooden looms has echoed for centuries. Our founder grew up watching master weavers transform raw silk into cloth that spoke — each colour a word, each pattern a proverb.
What started as a deep reverence for the craft became a mission: to bring the artistry of Ghanaian weavers to the world stage, not as artifacts in a museum, but as living, wearable art for the modern wardrobe. Every piece at Kente Luxe is a collaboration with artisans who have spent decades perfecting their trade, ensuring that the traditions of their ancestors are not only preserved but celebrated.
Today, we work with weaving communities across Ghana — from the Kente masters of Bonwire to the smock weavers of the Northern Region, and the Adinkra stampers of Ntonso — each community contributing its unique textile language to our collections.
"Every thread tells a story. Every pattern carries a legacy."
We believe that fashion can be a force for cultural preservation, economic empowerment, and artistic expression. These principles guide every decision we make.
Every piece is rooted in authentic techniques passed down through generations. We work directly with master artisans, not factories.
From hand-weaving to hand-stamping, each item is made with patience and precision — qualities that mass production cannot replicate.
We honour the cultural significance behind every fabric. Kente, Adinkra, Ankara, and Smock are not just textiles — they are living histories.
We invest in the communities that make our work possible — fair wages for artisans, skills training for apprentices, and support for local economies.
Handmade fashion is inherently sustainable. We create in small batches, use natural materials, and produce pieces built to last a lifetime.
Behind every Kente Luxe piece is an artisan whose family has been weaving for generations. In the village of Bonwire, the birthplace of Kente, weavers sit at narrow looms for hours, threading each strand with deliberate care. A single strip of Kente — roughly four inches wide — can take a full day to complete. Multiple strips are then sewn together to create a single garment.
Our smock weavers in the Northern Region use a different rhythm, spinning cotton and silk into the distinctive striped patterns that have clothed chiefs and farmers alike for centuries. And in Ntonso, the Adinkra stampers carve symbols from calabash gourds, dipping them in traditional dye made from the bark of the Badie tree — a recipe unchanged for over 200 years.
By wearing Kente Luxe, you become part of this story — a patron of crafts that have survived colonisation, globalisation, and the relentless pace of fast fashion.

Kente Luxe is conceived during a journey through the weaving villages of the Ashanti Region. The founder witnesses firsthand the beauty of traditional craftsmanship and the struggle of artisans to find global markets.
The inaugural collection launches with 12 handpicked pieces, each collaborating directly with master weavers in Bonwire and smock artisans in Tamale. Every piece sells out within weeks.
Kente Luxe expands to include Ankara wax prints and Adinkra stamped cloth, partnering with artisans across Ghana, Nigeria, and Côte d'Ivoire. The custom-order service launches.
The brand ships to over 20 countries. A commitment is made: 5% of every sale goes back to artisan communities through the Heritage Points program, funding apprenticeships and loom maintenance.
Kente Luxe launches its most ambitious collection yet — a 30-piece line celebrating the full spectrum of West African textile traditions, from royal Kente silk to everyday Ankara.
Every purchase supports master artisans, preserves ancient techniques, and adds your voice to a legacy that spans centuries. Wear your roots. Own your story.
